Tome of Calling: Quick Rules

Setup
Shuffle the deck. Everyone draws 3 cards. Starting player is the one who is fair as a Golden Dragon.

Taking Turns
The starting player draws 1 card from the deck and plays 1 card.
Then the next player draws a card and plays one until all players have done so.
There is no hand limit.

Playing a card
All cards have effects. Sometimes an effect may be bad for you – still you have to play that effect. A played card is discarded on top of a common discard pile, unless stated otherwise.

End of a round
If the deck runs out of cards or one player has no cards left at the beginning of her turn a round ends. The last player drawing a card has to play a final card.

Winning
Count the numbers on your hand cards. The winner of a round is the one with the highest sum of all hand cards. If there is a tie, the highest single card wins. Still tied? All tied players win this round.
The winner of the game is the player who won 2 rounds and leads by at least 1 victory.

  1. I was at the Loft in Ottawa today w/ our summer camp. I came across your game and tried it w/ my students, we found it really fun…so much fun, I bought 3 decks! 2 for our program and one of your autograph copies for my personal game collection.
    I run social programs for Teens and adults on the Autism spectrum, Tome of Calling will be a great game to get my students sociallizing and having fun.
